Frankie Gerbasi

Bio

Frankie Gerbasi enters his first year with the Aviators as Assistant Coach and Assistant GM with a track record of success at various levels. His coaching journey began with Rowan University, where he led the team to a 21-7-1 record and a #5 National Ranking in the Northeast Region ACHA, securing a playoff berth.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Frankie has also contributed to the development of young players as part of the Mercer Chiefs organization, guiding teams to multiple playoff appearances, including the U18 team to a successful run in the 2023-2024 season.

Prior to coaching, Frankie began his playing career with the Brick Hockey Club at the AA/AAA level and continued through Howell High School, where he earned accolades such as 2x All-State selection and 2x All-Shore Conference team member. As a high school standout, Frankie achieved entry into the 100-point club and finished his career at Howell High School as the third all-time leading scorer with 169 points. Frankie then played for the Jersey Shore Whalers in the USPHL before committing to West Virginia University for collegiate hockey, where he played for 4 seasons.

Frankie’s coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development and team cohesion, creating a professional environment for all players. He looks forward to this opportunity to use his hockey expertise and player development skills to help lead the Aviators to success both on and off the ice.
